What ages can come on private tours?
Kids ages 1+ are welcome on all private tours. Ages 1–4 ride in Yepp child seats mounted on a parent’s e-bike (free). Ages 4–11 ride on an e-cargo bike with a parent or guide (free). Ages 12+ (must be 5’ or taller and a confident rider) get their own adult-sized e-bike (free). We don’t use kids’ e-bikes or tag-alongs — just safe, purpose-built options for every age. This is one of the biggest reasons families book with us — most SF tour companies don’t allow anyone under 13.
How much do private tours cost?
Private tours start at $449 for groups up to 5 (Parks & Neighborhoods, 2.5 hrs). The Golden Gate Bridge Experience and Soul of SF are $549, and the Ultimate SF Adventure is $649. Larger groups get per-person pricing: $69–$129/pp depending on tour and group size. Weekend + peak season (May–September) adds 20%. All tours include premium e-bikes, wireless headsets, expert guide, iPad photo experience, and a dessert stop — no hidden fees or surprise charges.
Can we extend our ride to Sausalito?
Yes! Sausalito is a self-guided extension after your guided tour ends. You’ll keep your e-bike and get a route card with directions and local recommendations. Standard extension is +$39/pp (ferry NOT included — buy your ~$15 ticket in Sausalito). The Sausalito All-In (+$79/pp) is our best value — it includes a premium e-bike upgrade and the ferry ticket. We also offer a simpler half-day extension (+$29/pp, 4 hours total) if you just want more time to explore on your own.
Can I book directly or do I need to request a quote?
All 6 standard tours can be booked directly on our booking calendar. Pick your tour, select a date and time, enter your group size, and you’ll get instant confirmation. If you want a fully custom itinerary — a birthday route, anniversary surprise, corporate event, or something we don’t already offer — use our custom tour request form. You’ll get a personalized proposal and booking link within 24 hours.
What experience level do riders need?
No cycling experience needed. Our premium e-bikes make SF’s hills completely effortless — you just pedal gently and the motor does the hard work. We ride at a relaxed pace with frequent photo stops, and our guides adjust the route to your group’s comfort level. We’ve taken 70-year-olds, people who haven’t ridden in decades, and families with toddlers in child seats. If you can ride a regular bike, you’ll be fine.
What if it rains?
SF “rain” is usually light mist — we ride rain or shine, and it’s often part of the charm. For heavy storms (which are rare), we’ll contact you in advance to reschedule. If we cancel due to weather, you’ll get a full refund or a transferable raincheck — your choice. We recommend layers regardless of the forecast; SF microclimates mean you can go from sunshine to fog and back in a single ride.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before your tour. Inside the 48-hour window, you’ll receive a transferable raincheck that never expires — use it yourself or give it to someone else. We also offer optional Trip Protection at booking: Basic (5%) covers schedule changes, and Ultimate (15%) covers everything including same-day cancellations. Full policy →
