How does the Sausalito extension work?
Your guided tour takes you across the Golden Gate Bridge with your group. On the Marin side, Sausalito extension riders split off — coast downhill to Sausalito (~15 min) while the tour group returns to SF. Your guide loads a GPS route and gives you a curated Sausalito food guide. You keep your e-bike until 6 PM.
Will I miss parts of the guided tour?
No. After you split off, the tour group rides through the Presidio, Pacific Heights, and past the Painted Ladies. Your self-guided return takes you through these same neighborhoods. Same sights, your pace — plus Sausalito.
Will the e-bike battery last all day?
Yes. Our e-bikes have a 45+ mile range. The guided tour uses about half. Sausalito adds ~12–14 miles. Even with the Headlands detour, you'll have charge to spare.
Should I ride back or take the ferry?
We recommend riding back. It's free, the return through Presidio and Pac Heights is beautiful, and you arrive at our shop. During peak season (June–Sept), ferry lines hit 30–60+ min. If you prefer the ferry, Blue & Gold Fleet goes to Fisherman's Wharf — $14.75/adult. We include a GPS route from the Wharf to our shop.
How long does the extension add?
Plan for 2–3 hours: ~15 min downhill to Sausalito, 1–2 hrs exploring/eating, ~50 min riding back. Ferry: 30 min boat + 15 min ride from Wharf to shop.
What food do you recommend in Sausalito?
Your guide gives you a curated list of local favorites — places Sausalito locals actually eat, not tourist-facing restaurants. Honest picks, updated regularly.
What's the difference between Comfort and Performance e-bikes?
Standard e-bike handles any route. Comfort adds full suspension, ergonomic saddle, higher-torque motor — ideal for all-day comfort. Performance features a torque-sensing motor and sport geometry — our most responsive ride. Both include the Marin Headlands GPS route.
What's the Marin Headlands route?
A GPS detour through Hawk Hill, Battery Spencer, and Conzelman Road — some of the most spectacular views in the Bay Area. Included with any Comfort or Performance e-bike upgrade. Adds ~45 minutes before you drop into Sausalito.
Can kids do the Sausalito extension?
Public guided tour requires riders age 12+. For families with younger kids (8+), our private tours offer a custom Sausalito option. Contact us.
Where does the tour start?
618 Shrader Street, Haight-Ashbury — one block from Golden Gate Park. Easy by Uber/Lyft, N-Judah Muni, or car (free parking at Kezar Stadium Lot, 2 blocks away).
